Making treats for the family can’t forget the fur kids they needs treats too! I love making them treats that I know all the ingredients are fresh from my kitchen. This is another recipe I found on http://www.biglots.com DIY/recipe section and my doggies loved it:
• 1 Cup Pumpkin Puree
• 3-3.5 Cups Coconut Flour
• 2 Eggs or substitute see below*
• 1 Apple
• 1/8 Cup Fresh Chopped Parsley
• 1/3 Cup Chopped Mint Leaves
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the pumpkin puree and eggs on medium until smooth for 1 1/2 minutes. Add the flour to the mixture 1 cup at a time on low speed until smooth and dough is no longer wet or sticky.
- Using a cheese grater, grate the apple and add the gratings, parsley and mint into the dough and mix.
- Flour your counter and roll the dough out with a rolling pin. Use a cookie cutter to cut treats out, and place each one on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes until golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool entirely before serving to your furry friends!
- *You can substitute eggs with the following:
- 1/2 banana = 1 egg
- 3 tbsp unsalted peanut butter = 1 egg
- 1 tbsp ground flax seed + 3 tbsp water = 1 egg
- 1 tbsp chia seed + 1/3 cup water = 1 egg
